AFPA members take pride in their ability to manage the forest responsibly and protect it for future generations. Many of our members participate in independent, third-party forest certification systems. These certification systems employ the expertise of scientists from around the world to ensure that operations are conducted in a sustainable manner. Common elements of all certification systems include:
- Public consultation
- Habitat conservation
- Monitoring of air, soil, and water quality
- Sustainable development.
