AFPA certifies that these auditors have met our external, consultant auditor requirements and are deemed competent to perform AFPA audits at this time. We encourage employers to confirm the suitability of the the auditor they choose in the same way that they would confirm the suitability of any person with whom they enter into a contractual arrangement.
External, consultant health and safety auditors are independent consultants – their experience and pricing may vary. David A. Williamson is a seasoned auditor with five certifying COR partners, including Alberta Forest Products Association (AFPA), the Alberta Safety Council (ASC), Alberta Association for Safety Partnerships (AASP), Alberta Municipal Health and Safety Association (AMHSA) and the Manufactures Health and Safety Association (MHSA). With over two decades of experience, David’s expertise extends beyond auditing to encompass leadership in addressing client needs, which has been instrumental in driving the success of the SDI Group. Originating in Edmonton, he began his career by instructing numerous courses before further developing his skills working for Texaco Canada in Fort St. John, B.C. In 1999, he founded the SDI Group, initially focusing on COR audits and training before expanding into comprehensive management of Health and Safety Management Systems for multiple companies.
David completed the Health and Safety certificate program in 2003. In 2005, David sat on the Canadian Society of Safety Engineers’ executive to support the profession. ABOUT BLAIR
Blair recently joined Alberta Forest Products Association (AFPA) as an external auditor in 2023. He is a seasoned safety professional with a diverse auditing background, having served as an external COR auditor with the Manufactures Health and Safety Association (MHSA) and partnered with several certifying partners, including the Alberta Safety Council (ASC), Alberta Food Processors Association (AFPA), and Alberta Association for Safety Partnerships (AASP). Blair began his career by achieving his Journeyman Carpentry Certificate in 2011, and then later obtained his NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer) certificate in 2014.
