Mike has over 27 years of experience in the forestry, environmental, and energy sectors, including twelve years as a Forest Officer with the Government of Alberta. Mike’s experience includes forest management and woodlands activities, road and cutblock layout and construction, logging, hauling, timber scaling, and timber production audits based on ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems standards. In 2012 Mike entered the field of Occupational Health and Safety full time as the OHS Advisor to Alberta Justice, during which time he earned his CRSP designation. In 2017 Mike returned to his roots as the OHS Advisor to Alberta Wildfire and Forestry Division where he consults to the present day.

Mike has conducted numerous audits in Alberta and BC, and also develops health and safety management systems and programs for employers in Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan. David A. Williamson is a seasoned auditor with five certifying COR partners, including Alberta Forest Products Association (AFPA), the Alberta Safety Council (ASC), Alberta Association for Safety Partnerships (AASP), Alberta Municipal Health and Safety Association (AMHSA) and the Manufactures Health and Safety Association (MHSA). With over two decades of experience, David’s expertise extends beyond auditing to encompass leadership in addressing client needs, which has been instrumental in driving the success of the SDI Group. Originating in Edmonton, he began his career by instructing numerous courses before further developing his skills working for Texaco Canada in Fort St. John, B.C. In 1999, he founded the SDI Group, initially focusing on COR audits and training before expanding into comprehensive management of Health and Safety Management Systems for multiple companies.

David completed the Health and Safety certificate program in 2003. In 2005, David sat on the Canadian Society of Safety Engineers’ executive to support the profession. David continued by writing and receiving the Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation in 2005. In 2009, David received his Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC) designation. David was named to the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals as a governor, where he served for two terms. Blair recently joined Alberta Forest Products Association (AFPA) as an external auditor in 2023. He is a seasoned safety professional with a diverse auditing background, having served as an external COR auditor with the Manufactures Health and Safety Association (MHSA) and partnered with several certifying partners, including the Alberta Safety Council (ASC), Alberta Food Processors Association (AFPA), and Alberta Association for Safety Partnerships (AASP). He has conducted both external and internal audits for over 30 clients, spanning various industries and company sizes (including ones with 600+ employees).

Blair began his career by achieving his Journeyman Carpentry Certificate in 2011, and then later obtained his NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer) certificate in 2014. Blair graduated from the NAIT Occupational Health and Safety Diploma Program in April 2018. Blair began his safety career with SDI Group April 2017, working as a summer Co-Op- student, then part-time while completing his last year of schooling. He started full-time as a HSE Technician after graduating the program with Honors.
