Cutting through routine. Making safety stick.

A serious incident reminded us what’s at stake – and why safety can’t slip into the background.

This campaign takes a bold, creative approach that keeps safety messages front and centre. Through sharp visuals and direct reminders, these tools are built to stick – so workers, supervisors, and leaders keep safety ‘top of mind’ every day.

About the Campaign

The ‘Safety Guy’ campaign is an AFPA initiative (funded through an Alberta OHS Creative Sentence) that has transformed incidents into prevention tools.

Engaging, memorable resources are designed to strengthen safety habits and culture across Alberta mills. Packed with bite-sized training, bold visuals, and shareable content, this campaign turns lessons learned from incidents into safety habits you can actually use on the job.

Resources include:

  • Bite-sized micro-training videos
  • Eye-catching posters
  • Shareable social media assets
MICRO-TRAINING VIDEOS – Quick Hits, Lasting Habits

Why micro? Because no one wants to sit through an epic safety lecture when a few sharp, memorable minutes will do the trick. These bite-sized videos are designed to stick — quick to watch, easy to remember, and hard to ignore. Think of them as your safety espresso shots: small but packed with enough punch to keep safe habits front of mind in Alberta’s mills.

POSTERS & INFOGRAPHICS – Visual Reminders That Stick

The ‘Safety Guy’ campaign features three unique posters and an infographic that use clear visuals to highlight key lessons and prevention tips.

Safety doesn’t have to scroll past you. The posts in this campaign are designed to catch eyes, get people talking, and make it easy to share the safety lessons far and wide.

This campaign has platform-ready teaser clips/GIFs and bold slogans that are designed to grab attention, spark conversation, and share across YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X.

CREATIVE SENTENCE – Turning Incidents Into Positive Change

  • Part of Alberta’s OHS legal framework
  • Court-assigned funds go to prevention projects rather than penalties
  • Supports education, innovation, and sector-wide safety improvements
